Stone Set Ring Complete!

This was finished on Sunday, but I'm just getting to post it now because of finals week.  Luckily I'm pretty on track with my finals--probably for the first time in awhile.  I decided to oxidize the ring to further the dangerous look it gives off.  I'm very pleased with the oxidation and even more pleased that the stone still looks incredibly bright, even though the ring is now dark.

One thing that is hard to notice in the pictures but is actually quite awesome in person is where I filed off the oxidation.  Instead of doing what I've seen before and polished the silver around the edge, I polished the silver on just the bevel on the edge.  This means that, when looking at each of the edges, you see the polished silver on the outsides and then a very thin black line on the inside.  I really enjoy the way this looks and hope to use it again in my later projects.

I'd like to get some nice portfolio pictures of my more recent things up soon--the last time I took portfolio pics I had a lighting problem and couldn't really use any of them.

Also, I"M SO EXCITED FOR BREAK! It's much needed =]  All I have left is work tomorrow and two 20 minute critiques, then I'm off!
